„Se laisser faire”- „to
be lead by the mask and its motion“, is one of the most important aspects of this workshop. We are not playing what we imagine, but we are guided by the mask, its beautiful „madness“ and uninhibited phantasy. By playing with the mask we discover limitless creative and artistic freedom – our own child’s imagination sparkles through the mask. It let us play with the whole range of human diversity, driven by our individual foolishness and this way the actor often discover unexpected and thrilling artistic qualities. From the mask play you can build characters in the same creative and, if you want, „foolish“ way. The outcome of this vast range of characters is often stunning, unique.
Different masks will be used in this workshop: a little nose, a mouth, a rubberband, selfmade masks and traditional leather masks from the “Commedia dell’Arte
Movement:
The lesson starts every day with a group and movement training of 1,5 hours.
Elements of acrobatics- partner and single (everybody, no matter which age or size, can do it. I work with everybody´s personal needs and limits), awareness-training, energetic dance, stretching- and relaxation exercises, group work, Pilates, Shiatsu and Feldenkrais are used for this training. The movement class is specially designed for the following acting class and is an indispensable part of the workshop.
